With the ability to use ultra-low latency streaming to play demanding games on just about any device, including mobile, cloud gaming has the potential to change the makeup of the gaming industry for good by harnessing the power of 5G for faster connections, phones getting more powerful all the time, and the popularity of mobile gaming growing significantly during the pandemic

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said as far back as 2018 that “there is a good chance that step-by-step we will see less and less hardware. With time, I think streaming will become more accessible to many players and make it not necessary to have big hardware at home. There will be one more console generation and then after that, we will be streaming, all of us.”
