UST expands telecom offerings by acquiring MobileComm

UST has acquired global firm MobileComm in the hope of enhancing its next-generation network presence and improving its digital transformation capabilities

Leading digital transformation solutions company UST have announced the acquisition of global engineering firm MobileComm, hoping to strengthen UST presence in the rapidly growing next-generation network space.

With more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and wireless engineering services, the acquisition aims to integrate MobileComm’s 1300 employees to significantly strengthen UST’s telecommunications practice.

It has never been more important to integrate new software solutions into the telco industry. As telco workloads move to the cloud and open networks standardise, managing complex multi-vendor, multi-technology and multi-cloud networks have become increasingly critical to industry success.

The critical importance of multi-cloud networks

This acquisition is strategic in that it will enable UST to merge its deep experience in cloud and DevSecOps with MobileComm’s wireless engineering capabilities. With this in mind, the company will be able to provide unique offerings for Communications Service Provider (CSP) customers.

MobileComm was founded in 2002 and operates across the US, India and Canada. It boasts an experienced team of experts that offers a wide variety of capabilities in wireless engineering. For 21 years, the company has supported some of the largest Communications Service Providers (CSPs) for a range of initiatives, including wireless network modernisation, 5G network rollout, network performance enhancement, RF engineering, private cellular networks and Open RAN.

By combining UST’s domain expertise in other key verticals with MobileComm’s wireless engineering expertise, UST is aiming to bring industry-curated 5G use cases and provide new monetisation opportunities to CSPS. MobileComm’s capabilities being added to an already strong telecommunications division like UST positions the company to deepen existing client relationships, whilst expanding its global client base.

Digital transformation via improving global telco networks is ultimately the goal. Industry-specific cloud solutions such as this enable organisations to make stronger and better decisions about the direction of their business, whilst improving connectivity opportunities for its customers.

“We believe this strategic move will further empower UST to continue developing our wide range of compelling solutions in the telecommunications sector,” says Aravind Nandanan, General Manager, Telecommunications at UST.

“We are now better positioned to leverage our existing technologies and client relationships to expand the scope of our offerings and deliver bespoke solutions that accelerate digital transformation. UST will build upon this momentum by continuing to invest in the network engineering space.”

Harvinder Cheema, Chief Executive Officer at MobileComm says: “UST has earned a reputation as a key driver of innovation across a number of sectors, and we are excited to join them as we look to leverage the assets and experience of MobileComm to continue building on UST’s success in the telecommunications industry.”
